About Maria Pitsoulakis
Discover the journey, inspiration, and personal story behind the author Maria Pitsoulakis.

My path to becoming an author
I never set out to become an author. Like many people, I spent years focused on family, career, responsibilities, and simply navigating life's ups and downs. Along the way, I experienced moments that shaped me deeply—losing my father at a young age, facing unexpected health challenges, and walking through seasons where life didn't make sense and the future felt uncertain.
Writing began as a way to process those experiences. What started as personal reflection eventually became When God Doesn't Make Sense, a book born from real questions, real struggles, and the lessons I learned about faith, resilience, and hope.
One of the most surprising moments in my journey was discovering that I didn't have to stay in a single lane as a writer. After completing a nonfiction book rooted in personal experience, I challenged myself to create something completely different. That challenge became CTRL+ALT+DELETE: The Memory War, a dystopian novel that allowed me to explore creativity and imagination.

What drives my writing
What truly drives me to write is a desire to connect with people through stories and ideas that remind us we are stronger, more resilient, and more hopeful than we often realize. Throughout my life, I have experienced seasons of grief, uncertainty, health challenges, and unexpected transitions. I have also witnessed incredible courage, perseverance, faith, and growth in the people around me. Writing became a way to explore those experiences, make sense of them, and share the lessons I learned along the way.
Although my books span different genres, they are connected by a common thread. Whether I am writing nonfiction rooted in faith and personal experience or creating fictional worlds filled with adventure and conflict, I am ultimately exploring what it means to remain hopeful when circumstances are difficult.
In When God Doesn't Make Sense, I hope readers discover that it is possible to hold onto faith even when life doesn't unfold the way we expected. Through honest reflection, I share how faith can provide an anchor during life's storms.

More about me
Beyond being an author, I'm a wife, mother, grandmother, healthcare professional, wellness coach, and lifelong learner who understands that life rarely goes exactly as planned.
Like many people, I've experienced seasons of loss, disappointment, health challenges, and uncertainty. I've also experienced the joy that comes from family, faith, perseverance, and discovering new dreams later in life. Those experiences have shaped not only the person I am, but also the stories I choose to tell.
What I hope readers find in me is authenticity. I don't write from a place of having all the answers. I write from a place of curiosity, growth, and lived experience. Whether I'm sharing personal reflections, encouraging others through difficult seasons, or creating fictional worlds, my goal is always to connect with people in a genuine way.
Friends and family would probably tell you that I'm equal parts determined and compassionate. I care deeply about helping people, which is one reason I've spent my life in caring professions and now through my writing.
"Maria's writing is incredibly relatable and speaks directly to the heart. Her stories offer both comfort and inspiration."
